A coffee-maker is a thing, while a scum-bag is a person. A coffee-bag is a thing, and a scum-maker is?? English is weird.
Anyway, I just finished my Japanese exams yesterday, and I kind of like Japanese quite a lot. Well, at least those Japanese variety shows and comedies I chanced upon on YouTube gave me motivation to look forward to Jap classes next semester. I actually understand quite a lot of words in these Japanese shows. Now I just have to understand them as sentences..

Coffee-maker
Friday, December 08, 2006
Me: "Argh!! I want more coffee! Aiyah, I wanna marry a coffee-maker next time.."
Roommate: "What??"
Me: "Oops! Did I just say coffee-maker?"
After a split second, I realised the nonsense I was talking. I was thinking of someone who would make coffee for me, and not that coffee-maker machine.
Ok, I better think before I say stuff, or I'd end up saying lots of unintentional crap.

Putnam

*Nert ALERT!!!* Nerdy post below..
Putnam sucked for me. I was tired. The 2 bottles of coffee I drank had effect only for a while, during the time which I did most of the questions I knew. Probably get only top 200. Damn. It's so ironic that in the morning part, most people who did at least 1 problem could only do Problem A1, while I probably found A1 to be exceedingly difficult and went on to solve A2, A3, A4. The effect of the coffee obviously went away in the afternoon, when I found myself not being able to concentrate (too many late nights of sleeping at 3-4am I guess). Did about 1.5 problems (Didn't do B1!!! Just wrote out the procedure on how to solve, and I just said it can be whacked. What I didn't say though was that I was literally too tired to do algebraic manipulations.)in the afternoon (total 4.5), and I didn't even look at Problem B5, which was crazily easy. It was a case of poor choice/time management, when I decided to skip B5 completely and do B6. Didn't check B3, so I didn't know I made a mistake somewhere. I think somewhere during the time, after writing the proof of B2, and before writing the proof of B3, the effect of the coffee went away. In other words, all these 4.5 problems I did were done under the effect of coffee. I knew how to do 7 problems in the end (which excludes A1), which makes me working at 60% efficiency.
Imagine me doing math without coffee.. It would probably be a case of some nutcase knocking his head against the wall, chanting "I need coffee.."/"I need sleep.."
ARGH!! Finals coming.. bangs head against wall again..
I told you. It was a nerdy post.
